Memory Verse: And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth (Gen. 1:26)

Suggested Songs: God Made Me to be a Man

Scripture Reading: Gen. 1:11, 21, 25-26; 2:7

Points to Emphasize

  • Man is the highest one among all the creatures—Gen. 1:11, 21, 25

Begin with the lifeless matters, then proceed to the living creatures—from vegetable life to animal life, from the lowest to the highest. Finally, talk about man. [You may bring a plant, a pet or bring photos or use an electronic device to show some of these things.]

  • Man is the center of all the creatures—Gen. 1:26

The way God created man was different from the way He created other creatures.

  • The parts of man—Gen. 2:7

Man is composed of three parts: the spirit, the soul, and the body.

Man is different from all other living creatures because man has a spirit. [You may mention that there is no record of any other living creature that worships but how every race worships God. Some have worshipped in a wrong way; nevertheless, their worship proves that with man there is a desire for God.]
